There is also a causal link between music and spatial intelligence (the ability to perceive the world accurately and to form mental pictures of things). Merry Christmas everyone! This year for Christmas, we finally found a place to live! Hooray!
I will begin teaching again starting in January. I will be offering Private Lessons, Baby and Toddler classes and Voice Group Classes. I will also be holding some sample classes for Let's Play Music, which will begin next fall. My new home studio is located in the Salmon Creek/Mt. Vista area of Vancouver, WA. Music is one of the best gifts you can give your child! It is a gift that will benefit them throughout their entire lives! So, in honor of the 12 days of Christmas, over the next 12 days I'm going to share 12 benefits of Music Education for a child! On the first day of Christmas... 1. Early musical training helps develop brain areas involved in language and reasoning. It is thought that brain development continues for many years after birth. Recent studies have clearly indicated that musical training physically develops the part of the left side of the brain known to be involved with processing language, and can actually wire the brain's circuits in specific ways. Linking familiar songs to new information can also help imprint information on young minds. (click here for all 12 benefits in one place) Wow! Isn't that great! Come back tomorrow to learn more about what the gift of music can do for you or your child! -Ms. Maura I was SO EXCITED to start teaching LPM in Orem this fall, but an unexpected job opportunity came up for my husband in Portland, OR this summer and we took it! We've been here in the Portland/Vancouver area for about a month in a temporary housing situation while we look for houses. Once we get into a house, I will be looking to start teaching again! I will be taking early registrants for Let's Play Music for NEXT fall (2013) and some new piano or beginning guitar students. I will let you all know when we are in our new house so that I can start teaching again! :)
